We serve families with babies and children from 5 months to 5 years. The aim is to encourage mark making from an early age which then helps to develop and improve fine motor skills ahead of starting school. All writing comes from making basic marks to form letters, numbers and shapes – and with the help of our four colourful characters (‘The Mark Makers’) we make little ones’ early writing experiences fun. Each character represents a different mark such as a circle, zigzag, straight line and curve. A specific character is used each session and themed sensory trays are prepared to allow children to explore a world of shapes and textures while practising that mark through their play.
