The business for sale is an established franchise and benefits from other franchised businesses under the same brand within the East Midlands area. The current owner is looking to sell due to retirement and has been running the centre since 2016. The business is a good going concern and the ideal buyer would be a qualified teacher, although there is already a team of established teachers in place. Tuition is delivered to children aged 6-16 in both mathematics and English. The ideal buyer would be looking to exit the teaching profession but does not need to be a subject specialist in maths/English, or indeed a teacher. This is a ready made business available for immediate takeover generating a healthy profit.
The centre delivers a blend of online and in centre tutoring. The franchisor has a bespoke online platform with teacher/student present and all systems are recorded for safeguarding purposes. The system is excellent. Delivery is on a small ratio basis with a maximum of five students, but more usually 4, depending upon the respective student profiles. The business is Ofsted registered and takes pupil premium children from local schools as well as various Government qualifying schemes. The last Ofsted visit was November 2020 and there were no action points for the centre. There is also the potential to deliver functional skills to training providers in maths and English.
There are currently 65 students registered and receiving tutoring on a weekly basis. The market for tutoring is robust and there is significant scope for further business growth, particularly as parents are starting to realise the impact of the pandemic on their child's education.
The centre is located within a small business centre so rent is minimal, compared to a fully leased centre; the operating environment is of a high standard. Computers and materials are all in place and the business purchaser would receive training from the franchisor in all aspects of the business.
