I created Eggsploring chick-hatching experiences 10 years ago and it has been an excellent business during that time. It only takes up a small amount of time during the spring months and is very profitable. During the rest of the year I have another business which has grown rapidly, meaning I can no longer dedicate enough time to Eggsploring which is the reason for the sale.
The business is very well established and I have not needed to advertise the last few years as repeat customers fill up the amount of time I am willing to work. I think this business would be ideal for a retired person or anyone who wants to work for a quarter of the year and then be free to do other things. During the Spring term I do drop offs on a Monday, nothing on Tuesday and Wednesday, collect eggs on a Thursday and then do pick ups on a Friday followed by cleaning and then have the weekend off. There is a small amount of admin taking orders and replying to emails in the evening. It is very straight forward.
I store and clean all equipment in a garage at home so no premises is required. The business is based mainly in Liverpool, Lancashire, Manchester and Cheshire. I do some orders in London which I do on a specific week each year. It could be relocated anywhere but the bulk of the orders are in the North West.
It is a unusual business that is very rewarding and low maintenance. If you would like to know more please get in touch.
Turnover was 25k last year and profit 16k (we only did 4 weeks of deliveries). Previous year turnover was 42k from 8 weeks of deliveries and profit was 35k.
